[NI079] John Foltz was born on 03 Feb 1808 somewhere in Westmoreland County,
PA. His parents are as yet unconfirmed {see parent notes for suspicions}.
On 26 Mar 1833 John Married Susanna, the daughter of Martin Sies of Unity
Township {Census records show the name spelled Zeiss or Cease}. Sometime
in the 1830's John and Susanna helped pioneer the settlement of Winslow
Township. John was a Wagon Maker by trade, and was a candidate for Assesor
in Winslow Township's first elections in 1847 (we don't yet know the
out-come of the election, but I'm betting on John to win!) Also, in the
"1847 ASSESMENT OF PIONEERS IN WINSLOW TOWNSHIP", John was assessed for 2
horses and two cows.
We know little about Susanna as yet. Church records show her marrying
James Belford five years and one day before her marriage to John (spelled
FOLS). While I have found no reference to James, it is safe to assume that
he died prior to her marriage to John. There are also no records of any
children from her first marriage. She died at the age of 52.
Other records indicate that, at the age of 72 (Oct 1880), John
married Eva Gray, then 74.

[NI180] John Franklin Foltz was born in the O'Donnell Section near Reynoldsville.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, and was employed by the
Pennsylvania Burial Case Company of Reynoldsville.

[NI185] Cora Foltz was a Veteran of WWI, having served as a nurse with the Army
Medical Corps in France. Prior to and following her military service she
worked as a nurse in oil fields around the world with Texaco Oil Company.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the McMullen-Snyder Post
392 of the American Legion.
